writer + illustrator + designer

This was my final project in graduate school, at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts. The graphic novel explores personal experience, serendipity and reflection.

It was opportunity to further develop on my illustration and storytelling skills.

I wrote, illustrated and designed a comic book…

This graphic novel pushed my skills as a storyteller to reflect upon and share my own life experiences.

Traveling is an important part of life - it is a way to investigate and understand the world around us. It inspires me. This book tells the story of my first solo trip, including my thoughts and challenges while being alone.

It is illustrated on my Ipad using Procreate and designed in Adobe Indesign and printed through Mixam.

I am currently creating a handwritten typeface for the entire book and coloring each spread

a few spreads of the book…

about the process…

inspiration

The trip was my first solo trip for 72 hours. It was full of serendipitous moments, amazing views and just inspiration all around me…I wanted to make something.

Comics are a huge part of art history in Belgium - The adventures of Tin Tin being the most famous. After visiting the comic book museum in Brussels I knew that a comic would be a great medium to develop this story and it would bring a lot of my skill together.
